Rt. Hon. Olamilekan Onikosi is an accomplished legislator, grassroots politician, traditional leader, political leader, public administrator whose career reflects a steadfast commitment to public service, community development, and progressive governance. As the Council Leader (Speaker) of the 6th Legislative Assembly of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), he provides purposeful leadership for the legislative arm, fostering effective lawmaking, institutional accountability, and productive collaboration with the executive in advancing the Council’s development agenda.

Before assuming the office of the Speaker, he served as the Councillor representing the good people of Orile Ikosi (Ward D) in the 5th Legislative Assembly, where he earned a reputation for responsive representation and effective legislative oversight. As Chairman House Committee on [Works and Infrastructures], he championed initiatives that strengthened governance, enhanced legislative accountability, and advanced people-centred policies for the benefit of his constituents.

His journey in public service began as Senior Special Assistant, later to Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA on Chieftaincy Affairs, Markets,Revenue and Special Duties, a role he held before his election into the Legislative Assembly. In that capacity, he contributed significantly to strengthening relations with traditional institutions, improving market administration, and coordinating special government assignments that supported the Council’s development agenda.
