The unit offers legal advice to the Executive Chairman, management, departments, and other Council officials on matters relating to governance, administration, contracts, and public service.
It is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and vetting legal documents, agreements, policies, and official correspondence to safeguard the interests of the Council. The unit also ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local government laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
Where necessary, the Legal Services Unit represents or coordinates the Council’s representation in legal proceedings, manages disputes, and works to resolve legal issues efficiently.
